The classic shop is decorated as an ode to its flagship, with stainless-steel-framed glass display cases and ever-changing vitrines nestled under trademark Tiffany-blue awnings.

Strand Book Store, just off Union Square, has some 18 miles of 2 million new and used books, at 50% off cover prices.

This New York treasure has been open since 1927, it sells every kind of book imaginable, from novels to memoirs to art books to historical tomes.

For the true book aficionado, a rare book collection in a connected building contains even some favorite dusty first editions.
